Tamiya - History

Tamiya is a Japanese company that specializes in the manufacture and sale of radio-controlled vehicles, model kits, and a variety of hobby-related products. The company was founded in 1946 by Yoshio Tamiya in Shizuoka, Japan, and has since grown to become one of the most recognized and respected brands in the hobby industry.

The company has also been involved in the development and promotion of off-road racing, such as the Tamiya Off-Road World Championships, which was held annually from 1983 to 1992.
