The E5 series, which was introduced as "Hayabusa" in 2011, began coupled operation with the E6 series in 2013, and as of 2022 operates at a maximum speed of 320 km/h. In recent years, baggage storage areas have been added inside the cars to accommodate larger baggage, so some of the windows are now blocked off.
- The structure of the light-blocking case has been changed
- In line with the luggage storage areas added to cars 1 to 9, some of the windows in cars 1 to 8 have been blocked off
- The anti-slip material on the roof has been reproduced with gray printing
- The car number of the U42 train is printed, the car number can be changed using the transfer sheet included in the add-on set
- Equipped with movable hood
- Equipped with movable pantograph
- Uses hook and U-shaped conductive couplers
- The driver's side of E514, which connects to the E6 series and others, is equipped with a TN coupler
- The movable hood reproduces the black outer hood adopted from the U28 train set onwards

- Headlights and taillights are equipped with a constant lighting board.Headlights are lit by white LEDs, taillights by red LEDs.E514 type has head and taillight ON-OFF switch.
