The 227 series is a suburban train that began operating in 2015 and is operated as a local or rapid train mainly in the Hiroshima area. The car's body is decorated with the nickname "Red Wing" and the logo of "Hiroshima City Network," which is based on the color red, which is reminiscent of the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine and the maple tree, Hiroshima Prefecture's tree. There are 3-car and 2-car trains, and the shortest train is a 2-car train.
