The 209-2100 series is a commuter train that began operation in 2009 to replace the 113 and 211 series that were in operation in the Boso region. All carriages have been repurposed from carriages that were in operation on other lines, with semi-cross seats in the front cars and toilets in the middle cars. There are 6-car and 4-car formations, and until March 2021, these were operated as 10-car formations, each coupled together.
- One of the Moha 208 cars is reproduced with a toilet installed
- Kuha 209 and Kuha 208 are reproduced with semi-cross seats
- The leading car skirt is reproduced as a reinforced type
- The end face of the car body is reproduced without beads
- The front display part is replaceable and pre-printed parts are already attached, replacement parts are included
- The car number is selectable and a transfer sheet is included
- The head and tail lights and front display part are equipped with a constant lighting board and an ON-OFF switch
- The head and tail lights and front display part are lit by white LEDs
- Only the leading car driver's cab side is equipped with a TN coupler (SP)
- Uses a power source with a flywheel
- Uses a new current collecting system and black wheels
- Uses an M-13 motor
