The Grasshopper II, a beloved radio control car kit by Tamiya, gained its iconic status during the late 1980s. It was an upgraded successor to the original Grasshopper kit, showcasing various enhancements while staying true to the essence of the original model. This 2017 re-release incorporates updates while maintaining a faithful representation of the original design. The simplified construction process makes it an ideal kit for both novices and experienced R/C enthusiasts. Additionally, the model can be further enhanced using separately available option parts.

The Chassis:
Crafted from robust ABS resin, the chassis is built to endure the demands of off-road driving. Lightweight yet sturdy plastic components such as suspension arms and gearboxes contribute to an overall durable and lightweight unit. The front swing axle and rear rolling rigid suspension collaborate to deliver a responsive driving experience. The fully enclosed gearbox is seamlessly integrated with the rear axle and incorporates a built-in differential gear to facilitate smooth cornering. The one-piece wheels are coupled with front grooved and rear spike tires, ensuring solid performance.

The Grasshopper II body is molded using durable white polystyrene resin.

The fully enclosed rear gearbox contains a differential gear to facilitate smooth cornering.
Front ribbed tires provide excellent straight-line grip, and rear spike tires offer powerful drive. These tires are complemented by 8-spoke lightweight one-piece wheels.
Compatible with tune-up parts such as standard Type 540 motors (requires nine 1150 ball bearings and one 850 ball bearing) and CVA mini oil dampers.
