Tamiya 35192 1/35 Scale Us Army Assault Infantry
Following the initial fighting experiences in North Africa around 1942-1943, the US Army repositioned the American infantry division. From 1943 onward, each infantry division was comprised of three full-time infantry regiments, each with three infantry battalions. Additionally, the infantry regiment included other units such as an anti-tank company, artillery company, or staff company. The US Army's infantry regiment numbered approximately 3,100 soldiers. The division also had a robust artillery component consisting of four artillery battalions, three light and one medium, mainly armed with 105 and 155 mm howitzers. There were also an engineering battalion, a repair company, a reconnaissance unit, and a Military Police platoon. From 1943, the US Infantry Division comprised around 14,200 personnel, dominating the artillery compared to the German division and having better and fully motorized means of transportation, making it a highly mobile tactical formation. The division also had a more significant amount of "individual" anti-tank weapons, such as bazooka launchers, of which there were over 500 in the entire division.
