Painting Tips
- Bare-metal finish (NMF). Before applying AS-12 Bare-Metal Silver, prime the model with a smooth coat of gloss black. A dark, high-gloss base coat gives the metallic paint a deeper, more realistic shine.
- Interior green setup. US WWII Interior Green can be recreated by mixing XF-3 Flat Yellow and XF-5 Flat Green per the kit ratio, or using Tamiya's dedicated USAAF Interior Green if available.
- Anti-glare panel. Mask carefully along the top of the nose engine cowl before painting the Olive Drab anti-glare panel with AS-6 to prevent bleed-through on the bare-metal finish.
