Recommended Acrylic Paints

The following Tamiya paints are recommended based on the official instruction manual. Where LP (Lacquer) series paints are specified, acrylic alternatives are noted.

Main Stealth Airframe & RAM Camouflage

• XF-53 Neutral Grey: Primary base coat representing the overall low-observability airframe coating. (LP-36 Dark Ghost Gray lacquer is the alternative for airbrushing — check our Tamiya paints range for availability.)
• XF-54 Dark Sea Grey: Slightly darker leading edges, panel lines, and geometric RAM tape sections on upper surfaces.
• XF-19 Sky Grey: Lighter contrast tone for lower fuselage panels and underside radar tape borders.
• XF-69 NATO Black or XF-1 Flat Black: Canopy framing, anti-skid wing walk lines, and sensor apertures.

Interior Structural Bays (Weapons, Nose & Landing Gear)

• X-2 White (Gloss) or XF-2 Flat White: Interior walls of the main weapons bays and front/main landing gear housings.
• XF-66 Light Grey: Internal structural ribbing, bulkheads, and hydraulic joints inside the gear tracks.
• X-18 Semi-Gloss Black: Avionic black-boxes, cockpit display frame, and wiring conduit lines through the weapons bays.
