Tamiya 1/35 West German Tank M47 Patton Plastic Model Kit
This kit is a collaboration between Tamiya and Italeri, which features a significantly updated version of the original Italeri M47 Patton along with Tamiya figures, machine gun parts, new West German markings and parts, and Tamiya instructions. The M47 Patton was initially deployed in 1952, but was quickly replaced by the M48. As a result, the US supplied M47s to its friendly allies in the West such as Italy and West Germany. This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that includes various upgrades and new parts to align with modern standards. Major changes include strengthened weak part joins, added omitted details like the canvas gun shield cover, tow cables, and more, and more accurate shapes for periscope guard parts and machine gun. Additionally, new individual parts are featured to represent West German smoke dischargers and Jerry cans, and a plastic plate is included to replicate the late production M47 rain guard. Tracks are recreated using paint and cementable belts, and the kit comes with a Tamiya torso figure and parts for the M2 heavy machine gun, ammunition cases, and more. The kit includes two marking options for West German and Austrian vehicles, with M47 parts being a product of Italeri.
