Germany's Most Advanced Main Battle Tank

In May 2017, the Bundeswehr launched an ambitious upgrade program for its Leopard 2 fleet, producing the formidable A7V variant. Built on the A7 platform, the A7V delivers significant advances in survivability, firepower, and battlefield awareness — making it one of the most capable main battle tanks in the world today. A total of 104 tanks were upgraded, with the first reaching active units in September 2021.

• Armour: Additional front hull armour with new running gear to maintain mobility
• Firepower: L/55 120mm smoothbore gun capable of engaging targets up to 5km; compatible with Rheinmetall’s programmable DM11 multipurpose round

Exterior camouflage

• XF-67 NATO Green, XF-68 NATO Brown and XF-69 NATO Black are options for a three-colour camouflage finish.

Crew figures and equipment

• XF-65 Field Grey and XF-27 Black Green can be used for muted uniform tones.
• XF-49 Khaki is an option for fabric and straps; XF-15 Flat Flesh for visible skin.
• XF-4 Yellow Green can provide selected small highlights if your chosen finish calls for them.

Tools, running gear and small details

• X-6 Orange and X-7 Red are options for selected lights and small markings.
• X-11 Chrome Silver can provide small reflective accents.
• XF-1 Flat Black is useful for rubber and dark details; XF-2 Flat White for small light-coloured details.
• XF-22 RLM Grey and XF-62 Olive Drab are optional muted detail colours.
• XF-52 Flat Earth can be used for wooden tool handles; XF-56 Metallic Grey for metal details and XF-64 Red Brown for restrained weathering.

For the photo-etched grilles, consider a suitable metal primer before applying acrylic paint. Glue, paints and finishing supplies are sold separately.
