The Subaru Brat originally found its purpose in international markets, gaining immense popularity during the 1970s within the United States. Tamiya, a pioneer in remote-controlled vehicles, initially introduced an R/C interpretation of this beloved compact truck in 1983. Presently, Tamiya takes pride in unveiling an enhanced and revitalized version of this timeless R/C truck. Beyond the improved internal components, this assembly kit includes a driver figurine, adding a touch of nostalgia. Additionally, both a finely-detailed resin body designed for display and a durable, lightweight polycarbonate body suited for racing are provided.

Distinguished by its unique space frame chassis, the vehicle boasts a 4-wheel independent suspension system featuring front double wishbones and rear trailing arms. Notably, the rear suspension has been modernized with diaphragm-type oil dampers and coil springs. Powering the gearbox with differential is a 540 Type motor, and for optimal transmission efficiency, the drive shaft incorporates a dog bone joint. The ensemble is completed by block-pattern tires fitted onto realistic 8-spoke wheels, encapsulating an elegant and stylish package.
