The Joysway DragonForce 65 V8 (DF65) is a 655mm racing-class RC sailboat with a fully painted moulded ABS hull, Mylar racing sails and a Flysky i6 radio system in this RTR version. The V8 updates focus on improved build quality and reliability while maintaining the level-performance principles of the DF65 racing class.

DF65 V8 Updates
The DF International Class Association (DFICA) and licensed builder Joysway Hobby International Ltd introduced the V8 changes from 1 February 2025 following feedback from DFICA members and consultation with the Joysway engineering team. The changes improve build quality and reliability without changing performance. All new parts are available to retrofit on previous versions.
- Digital winch: A new digital winch replaces the current grey DF sail winch, providing more consistent performance and end-point accuracy. It fits the existing DF winch drums and has the same speed as the outgoing model.
- Power switch: A new mounting plate and slightly modified servo tray allow the switch to be fitted from the top of the tray. Previous versions required the tray to be removed to fit the switch from underneath.
- Bearings: Better-quality stainless steel helps reduce potential rust. Regular lubrication is still required for smooth operation.
- Tray attachment screws: Flat-head screws replace countersunk-head screws to help prevent cracking around the screw head.
- Jib boom rear plug and DF65 clew hook: The boom rear plug now includes an external hole for attaching the jib topping lift, and a thicker wire is used for the DF65 clew hook for additional strength.
- DF65 jib tack hook: A thicker wire is used for additional strength.
- Mainsheet bridle plate: The plate attaching to the keel bolt and holding the bridle ring forward has been strengthened by increasing its thickness.
- Rudder servo arm: The existing servo arm has been replaced by a stronger nylon version.
- Mast deck sliding plate, bolt and nut: The sliding plate has been slightly increased in size to eliminate excess movement, and the bolt and nut have been replaced with 316 stainless steel.
- Jib forestay wire: A better-quality stainless-steel forestay is supplied and shortened to allow a greater range of adjustment of the forestay bowsie.
- Jib luff sail eyelets: The eyelets have been moved closer to the jib tack for a smoother sail shape. Thinner copper clamps replace the previous parts to help prevent slippage.
- Winch tension line elastic: Replaced with a better-quality product.
- Wire luff rings: The shape has been improved for more secure fitting.
- Mast joiner, mast stub and collar: Tube diameters have been increased slightly for a better fit in the mast tube, with more consistent collar positioning.
- Deck hatch cover patch: Redesigned to allow visibility into the tray, with a larger battery hatch cover supplied for the DF65.
- Sail corner reinforcement patches: A second layer of patch material has been added for increased corner stiffness.
- Metal rudder arm: The clevis hole has been reduced slightly for a tighter fit and less movement in the linkages.
