Italeri 01444 1/72 Scale T-33A Shooting Star
The T-33A Shooting Star was a subsonic jet trainer widely used by military pilots in the 1950s for operational training. It was based on the airframe of the P-80 single-seat fighter but had a longer fuselage and a simple yet practical design with a straight and low wing in the shape of a "T". The US Air Force used the T-33 until the early 1960s when it was replaced by the more advanced Northrop T-38 Talon. Compared to the P-80, the T-33 had a lighter armament consisting of only two 0.50 (12.7 mm) machine guns. The T-33's reliability made it popular among many air forces for both training and operational missions, and some T-33s remained in service until the 2000s. This Italeri 01444 model kit allows you to recreate the T-33A in 1/72 scale.
