At the heart of the platform is a Hobby Plus branded Hobbywing 1626-size 8000KV 2-pole inrunner brushless motor paired with a 2S Mini 28 ESC. Hobbywing is a staple of the RC industry and partnering with them over the last several years they have once again delivered a quality RTR spec for the Speck-B. The acceleration is smooth. The power is consistent. The reliability is unmatched. All inputs to the vehicle are wrapped with a FlySky 2-channel transmitter and FlySky ESC/receiver combo. With the FlySky system, drivers can expect responsive, reliable control with a refined, “buttery smooth” driving experience.

Built to Perform

The Speck-B was engineered with versatility in mind—from backyard bashing to competitive racing environments, the Speck-B delivers. Just a quick look and you'll notice how robust each individual part is designed. This gives the basher peace of mind when sending it off homemade ramps or a local skatepark. Racers will appreciate this design philosophy as well, with a tad more weight adding to consistent track performance.

Small refinements also indicate an increase in performance. A revised transmission center gear no longer requires a break-in period. Slightly lighter shock oil gives a more confident landing off jumps and absorbs small bumps better. A new V-Block tire design works on dirt, concrete, asphalt, carpet and foam surfaces—no more chasing the right tire for a specific surface. A taller ball stud on the steering rack side of the drag link has also been installed, eliminating unwanted friction and drag link pop-off.

Key returning features that make the Speck-B easy and fun include a versatile battery compartment with common battery plugs, long travel fully adjustable suspension with quick-adjust threaded oil-filled shock bodies, a robust 4-gear transmission with hybrid metal/plastic mod .5 pitch gears, and a sealed 3-gear differential for fine tuning. Weight bias adjustments are achieved through battery placement, and the front roll center can be adjusted based on driving style, track surface and overall needs.
