HobbyBoss 1/72 German WR360 C12 Locomotive Plastic Model Kit [82913]

WR360 is a series of German diesel locomotives that were produced in the years 1937-1950 by many German manufacturers, including: BMAG, Deutz, Henschel or Krupp. The service weight of a single locomotive was from 39 to 43 tons, and its length with buffers - 9.2 m. The diameter of the wheels was 1100 mm, and the locomotive was constructed in the C axis system. A total of 279 locomotives of this type were built.

The WR360 locomotive from the very beginning was designed as a shunting locomotive and able to pull small freight cars. It was almost exclusively equipped by the Wehrmacht, which in turn used it to service refineries, warehouses and ports. Its great advantage as a diesel engine was that it did not generate a large amount of steam, which was desirable in front-line conditions, as it did not reveal the position of the locomotive. The WR360 was heavily used in World War II, but relatively many locomotives of this type survived it. After 1945, they could be found in many European countries, for example in France, Italy and Austria.
