The Type 4 Ke-Nu was a Japanese WWII light tank. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1944. Serial production started in the same year and led to the creation of about 100 vehicles of this type. The vehicle was powered by a single engine Mitsubishi A6120VDe with a power of 120 HP. The tank was 4.3 meters long and 2 meters wide. The armament consisted of a single Type 97 gun. 57 mm and one or two 7.7 mm machine guns. The Type 4 Ke-Nu was in fact a far-reaching upgrade to the Type 95 Ha-Go. The main change was the use of a completely new turret from the Type 97 Chi-Ha and a 57mm gun. However, the same hull or power unit was preserved. The result was a car with a much better firepower than the Type 95, but with a limited top speed and maneuverability. The armor of the new tank was not significantly improved, as a result of which the vehicle could be destroyed by virtually all Allied anti-tank guns - even the 37 mm caliber. It is worth noting that the production of the Type 4 Ke-Nu tanks was mainly based on converting the existing Type 95 Ha-Go vehicles. Most vehicles of this type were not used in combat, with the exception of a small number that entered Manchuria in 1945.
