Ibg 72531 1/72 Scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 Cottbus (Early Production) Plastic Model Kit

Introducing the IBG 72531 Plastic Model Kit of the Focke-Wulf FW 190D-9 Cottbus (Early Production), a German single-engine fighter aircraft that was highly regarded by its pilots during World War II. With its covered cabin and low wing design, the Fw-190 was favored over the Messerschmitt Bf-109. The Fw-190's self-supporting low wing with a working coating was commissioned by the Luftfahrtministerium and first flown in 1939. The BMW 139 radial engine was initially used but was replaced with the more powerful, but longer and heavier BMW 801, which required changes to the aircraft's structure and cabin position. The Fw-190V5 with the new engine and wings with a larger wingspan was completed in 1940 and served as the basis for over a dozen versions of the aircraft. The Fw-190's versatility allowed for different versions to serve as fighter planes, high-altitude fighters, and fighter-bombers. The Fw-190D-9 version, powered by the Jumo 213A engine, was the German response to the P-51 Mustang and was primarily used for hunting and high-altitude fighter tasks. With over 20,000 copies produced, the Fw-190 is widely regarded as one of the best fighters of World War II. Technical data for the Fw-190A-8 version includes a length of 9m, wingspan of 10.51m, height of 3.95m, maximum speed of 656km/h, rate of climb of 15m/s, maximum range of 800km, maximum ceiling of 11410m, and armament of 2 MG131 13mm machine guns and 4 MG151 20mm cannons (2 MG 151/20E cannons for the D-9 version). Get your hands on the IBG 72531 Plastic Model Kit and experience the legacy of the Focke-Wulf FW 190D-9 Cottbus (Early Production).
