The Excel remote control car brand has a rich history that dates back to the 1980s. It was founded by the Japanese company Kyosho, which was already well-known in the remote control car industry for producing high-quality models. The Excel brand was designed to appeal to a wider market and to offer more affordable models that still had the quality and performance that Kyosho was known for.

The first Excel model was introduced in 1984 and was called the Excel F1. It was a 1/10 scale formula car that was designed to look like a real Formula 1 car. It featured a simple chassis and a single-speed transmission, but it was fast and agile on the track, making it popular among remote control car enthusiasts.

Over the next few years, Kyosho continued to develop the Excel brand, introducing new models such as the Excel Turbo Optima in 1985. The Turbo Optima was a 1/10 scale off-road buggy that was designed for racing. It featured a four-wheel drive system, adjustable suspension, and a powerful motor, making it one of the most advanced models on the market at the time.

In 1987, Kyosho introduced the Excel 1/10 Scale Electric Truck, which was a 1/10 scale off-road truck that was designed for bashing and off-road use. It featured a durable chassis and a powerful motor, making it capable of tackling rough terrain and jumps.
