Tips for fitting bead-lock tires

Installing crawler beadlock tires can be a bit tricky, but with the right tools and some patience, it is certainly doable. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to install crawler beadlock tires:

Materials needed:

  • Crawler beadlock tires
  • Beadlock rims
  • Tire glue
  • 1.5mm hex wrench
  • 2.0mm hex wrench
  • Tire irons
  • Digital calipers

Step 1: Prepare the tire

  • Start by inspecting the beadlock tire to make sure it is clean and free from any debris.
  • Use the digital calipers to measure the diameter of the tire and rim. You will need these measurements to ensure that the tire fits snugly onto the rim.

Step 2: Prepare the beadlock rim

  • Take the beadlock rim and remove any excess glue or debris from the surface.
  • Use the 1.5mm hex wrench to remove the bolts that secure the inner ring to the rim.
  • Place the inner ring aside and inspect the rim to make sure it is clean and free from any debris.

Step 3: Apply tire glue (optional)

  • Apply a small amount of tire glue onto the inside of the beadlock rim. Spread it evenly around the entire circumference of the rim.
  • Make sure you use enough glue to cover the surface, but not so much that it oozes out from between the tire and rim when you install the tire.

Step 4: Install the tire onto the rim

  • Start by placing one bead of the tire onto the rim, making sure it is seated evenly around the rim.
  • Use the tire irons to carefully work the other bead of the tire onto the rim. Be careful not to damage the tire or rim as you do this.
  • Once the tire is fully installed onto the rim, use your fingers to press the tire down evenly around the rim.

Step 5: Attach the inner ring to the rim

  • Take the inner ring and place it onto the tire, making sure it is centered on the rim.
  • Use the 2.0mm hex wrench to tighten the bolts around the rim, making sure they are evenly spaced and tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Be sure not to over-tighten the bolts, as this can damage the rim.

Step 6: Check the fit and balance

  • Inspect the tire and rim to ensure that the tire is centered and seated evenly around the rim.
  • Check the balance of the tire and rim by spinning it and making sure it rotates smoothly without any wobbling.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed crawler beadlock tires onto your vehicle. Be sure to check the tires periodically for any signs of damage or wear
