Painting Guide
The Hotshot II body and rear wing are Polycarbonate (Lexan) and come pre-cut and pre-painted in black. The orange line graphics are applied via the included sticker sheet — no orange paint is required for the box art look.
Use Tamiya PS (Polycarbonate) spray paints for any custom colour work, applied from the inside of the body shell.
⚠️ Important: Do not use TS or XF paints on the polycarbonate body — they are not formulated for Lexan and will crack or peel.
Body Shell & Rear Wing
- PS-5 Black – Primary base coat (body comes pre-painted black; use this to touch up or repaint)
Custom Colour Work
- PS-1 White – Popular base for custom colour schemes before applying your chosen top coat
- PS-62 Pure Orange – Great option if you want to paint the orange graphic areas instead of using stickers
Masking Tape
For crisp custom stripe work on the Lexan body, use flexible curve tape to seal edges before filling larger areas with standard tape.
Curve tape (for stripe borders):
- AK Interactive Blue Masking Tape for Curves 1mm
- AK Interactive Blue Masking Tape for Curves 2mm
- AK Interactive Blue Masking Tape for Curves 3mm
Standard tape (for filling large masked areas):
