The inception of the M-chassis series traces back to December 1994, gaining immense popularity due to its cost-effective kits offering a wide array of body choices, user-friendly maintenance, and ease of control for enthusiasts at all levels. Now, introducing the brand-new MB-01!
The innovative MB-01 chassis upholds this legacy by allowing for six distinct setups. Users can select from three wheelbase options and opt for either a front- or rear-wheel drive system. The first body designed for this chassis is a tribute to the Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR Berlina Corse, a vehicle finely tuned from the compact 2-door Fiat 600.
The MB-01 Chassis:
This compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis provides flexibility with three wheelbase choices and the option for a front- or rear-wheel drive system. The model adopts a midship motor with a rear-wheel drive setup. Switching between front- and rear-wheel drive is seamless – users can alter attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage. For rear-wheel drive cars, a choice of low or high motor position is available without requiring the removal of the battery pack, motor, or R/C equipment setups from the center frame. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension embodies a symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Convenient unitized sections, such as the motor mount, final gears, and suspension, facilitate easy assembly and effective maintenance.
Specifications:
- Length: 322mm, Width: 163mm. Wheelbase: 209mm (S) / 224mm (M) / 239mm (L) (*Fiat Abarth uses the LONG wheelbase setup).
- The versatile 2WD MB-01 chassis offers three types of wheelbases (*), along with front- or rear-wheel drive options, totaling six setups.
- Effortlessly switch between front- and rear-wheel drive by adjusting attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage. Choose low or high motor position for rear-wheel drive cars.
- Streamlined unitized sections like the motor mount and final gears streamline assembly and maintenance.
- The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension showcases a symmetrical structure and employs friction dampers.
- While this model is 2WD, the multi-link suspension is compatible with tires having similar compound properties, including rear tires with toe-in like 4WD models.
- Gear ratio: 5.83:1 (when using the kit-standard 29T pinion gear)
- Features 55mm diameter front tires and 60mm diameter rear tires to authentically replicate the stance of the actual car.
- Many Hop-Up Option parts for M-chassis and TT-chassis cars can be utilized for fine-tuning the setup.
- Includes a 540 motor and ESC.
- Requires a 2-channel radio, 7.2-7.4volt battery with a compatible charger, and Tamiya PS paint to complete the model.
